Short Bio

Graham Lazorchak (b. 2002) is a composer, improviser, and arranger based in Arlington, Virginia. Lazorchak is interested in the connection between timbre, texture, and emotion. Lazorchak's influences include contemporary and early 20th century concert music, as well as jazz, film music, and prog rock.

His work has been performed by groups such as the International Contemporary Ensemble, the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, and Metropolis Ensemble, as well as by members of TAK Ensemble and Ensemble Dal Niente.

Lazorchak received a BM in composition and a BA in computer science from Oberlin College and Conservatory. He now works as a researcher in music technology.

Lazorchak's influences include contemporary and early 20th century concert music, as well as jazz, film music, and prog rock.

His work has been performed by groups such as the International Contemporary Ensemble, the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, and Metropolis Ensemble, as well as by members of TAK Ensemble and Ensemble Dal Niente.

Lazorchak received a BM in composition and a BA in computer science from Oberlin College and Conservatory, where he has studied under the tutelage of Professors Stephen Hartke, Jihyun Kim, Jesse Jones, Michael Frazier, and Elizabeth Ogonek. He now works as a researcher under Prof. Emily Wang studying music technology.
